As the Friday this week was Good Friday, I had to wait until Monday to paint. Family first!
It seems like this winter will never end! Snow will be present, I think, until May. This is quite extraordinary. When the first snow-fall came in early winter I thought I had to get into the woods painting and not loose a single Friday in order to get som paintings of snow before it melted away. Now I guess there will be snow in one third of the paintings, when I have reached number forty.
I got up here much earlier today because I didn’t have to go to work. A fantastic day. Although I brought my snow-shoes with me, I barely had to use them. The crust held me, even with nearly twenty kilo-grams in my rucksack.Thought perhaps I could paint two paintings, but I lit a little camp-fire instead. Coffee, bread and a little cake.
I did another approach today concerning the grays. Instead of Burnt Umber and Ultramarine, I used Ultramarine and Iron Oxide. This made the shadows a little violet-gray.
Arriving at the parking place I heard a chaffinch, so I got an extra hint of spring.
